Our client, a very busy dental office, seeks an experienced NDAEB Certified Level II Dental Assistant/Dental Receptionist.  The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic team player who is dedicated to patient care.  Position 80% Assisting and 20% Reception duties.

POSITION/JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experienced Level II Dental Assistant (Written and passed the NDAEB Exam) - 80%
  • Experienced Dental Receptionist - 20%
  • Must have minimum of 2 years of experience
LOCATION:
  • Bloor & High Park
HOURS:

The position is more 80% assisting and 20% front desk duties

Tuesday 7am-530pm
Wednesday 7am-7pm
Thursday 7am-530pm
Friday 7am-2pm

 
COMPENSATION:
  • $23.00 per hour ​depending on experience and performance
JOB OVERVIEW:
  • Assisting dentist during dental procedures that features handing instruments and other materials
  • Sterilizing instruments
  • Assisting dentist with crowns, bridges, porcelain veneers, dental implants, invisalign, teeth whitening, fillings, extractions and mouth guards 
  • Placement and removal of rubber dams
  • Taking x-rays of patients' teeth and exposing dental diagnostic x-rays
  • Using suction and swabs to keep patients' mouths clear and dry during procedures
  • Taking preliminary impressions of teeth for study models
  • Applying pit and fissure sealants and topical anesthetics
  • Questioning patients about their medical history and recording the information for dentist's reference
  • Advising patients on dental care, oral hygiene and plaque control programs
  • Making patients of all ages feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
  • Greet patients in a warm and welcoming manner
  • Make a great first impression ideally creating long term loyal patient relationships
  • Schedule/confirm patient appointments by telephone and in person
  • Send confirmation of appointments via email and telephone and make follow-up calls/emails
  • Provide patients with information regarding the dental office and direct calls appropriately
  • Prepare and submit predeterminations from treatment plans
  • Verify procedures completed, collect payments, and submit insurance claims electronically
  • Accurately maintain charts and patient records
  • Make sure waiting room and reception area is clean and tidy
