*Dental Hygienist (2 Days Tues & Thurs-must be Vaccinated)

Our client is compliant with all the regulations outlined by the RCDSO & CDHO guidelines and protocols recommended by the Ontario Ministry of Health. 

POSITION/JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experienced Dental Hygienist capable of independent practice of dental hygiene 
  • Must be registered with College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO)
  • The candidate MUST be vaccinated
LOCATION: University/Gerrard

COMPENSATION: TBD 

HOURS:  
  • Tuesday & Thursday (8-4:30/5pm)
The following are attributes/responsibilities associated with the position.   
  • Familiar with Dental Software (our office uses AbelDent)
  • Desire to provide dental hygiene care within a busy clinic setting which provides care to Adults, which includes Medically complex patients, those with special healthcare needs, and Adults with Disabilities;
  • Includes GP Practice and Periodontal Practice – Patient care is provided to patients of multiple dentists  (Eg: General Dentists/Periodontists)
  • The individual must be experienced and able to work independently. 
  • Must be able to adjust physically and emotionally to a spontaneous, fast-paced and hectic environment.
  • Meet the physical requirements and demands.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of special care individuals and their families/caregivers
  • A team player- be willing to undertake additional responsibilities as required (i.e. dental assisting/reprocessing instruments)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; organizational skills
  • Must enjoy contact with a wide variety of people
  • Ensure efficient, timely patient flow by anticipating and determining the appropriate equipment, preparing the operatory, maintaining adequate supplies and seating the patient
  •  Exposure and processing of radiographs, and recording of radiographs conforming with departmental and HARP standards.   Dexis digital experience is an asset (used for panoramic radiograph)
  • Ultrasonice or sonic scaling, root planing, subgingival curettage (as ordered by D.D.S.)
  • Application of topical agents and other materials designed to assist in the prevention of cariesas well as comfortable applying subgingival anti microbial medications when ordered
  • Take Impressions
  • Oral hygiene instruction and nutrition counselling for patients, caregivers
  • Maintain dental hygiene operatory/equipment;  stock hygiene supplies
  • Sterilize, reprocess instruments as required
  • Previous Dental Assisting experience an asset
  • Establish excellent working relationships with all doctors, Admin, Dental Assistants, staff members, and patients under varying conditions
